Site Defaults

The Default page is where you will manage your default creative and their delivery parameters. You can have up to ten default campaigns per site and media type. The defaults shown on this page will also appear on the Media Manager page. Visit the Media Manager or Default History pages to see delivery statistics. The Site Default page lets you:

  • View the defaults loaded in your account
  • Add a new site default
  • Edit an existing site default

When our ad code is placed on the pages of your site we will try to match the highest paying campaign with your users. When we cannot match any campaigns to the user, we will show a default. If you have loaded a site default we will show that unit. If you do not have one loaded we will show an un-paid public service announcement. To maximize your revenue we recommend that you have default campaigns from other advertising partners set up for all ad formats that you are currently running.

  1. Navigate to the Defaults page of your Conversant publisher accounts (Sites & Apps > Defaults).

  1. The table on this page will show all the current defaults you have loaded for all of your sites and media types. To create a new default, give the default a name and select the corresponding "site" and "ad size" meant for this default assignment.
  2. Typically, most ad networks can supply you with either rich media code of just basic image (IMG SRC) and clock (A HREF) links. Here's the proper set up within Conversant's publisher portal for both.
    • When using Rich Media, select the “Rich Media” radial button for the Default Option.
    • Next, choose whether to “Host it Myself” and then enter the URL where the rich media creative is hosted online. Or choose to have Conversant “Host it for Me” and paste the rich media tag into the corresponding “Rich Media HTML” field.
    • When complete, select the Submit button.

  • When using a basic image and click-thru link, select the “Standard Only” radial button for the Default Option.
  • Next, choose the appropriate Image Option. Either supply the URL where the image is hosted online or Upload an image file for Conversant to host or select an Existing image file that you previously uploaded.
  • And finally enter the corresponding Click URL that a user will visit after clicking your served default.
  • When complete, select the Submit button.
